The field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM & R) is over 60 years old, yet the term Physiatry is often confused with Psychiatry, Physical therapy and Podiatry.

The Department consists of an interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, social workers, prosthetists and orthotists. This team works together in reducing pain, improving and maintaining function, reducing disability and improving quality of life.
